LifeSchool PDF Print E-mail

LifeSchool is a weekly Bible study hour designed for equipping all ages to grow in their relationships with God.  LifeSchool meets every Sunday morning from 9-10 a.m. before our worship time. LifeSchool courses are changed each quarter (four times per year).  We create new studies that keep learning fresh and exciting as we walk through what it means to grow up into mature Christians.

"Continue to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."  (II Peter 3:18)

"Take the time and trouble to keep yourself spiritually fit."  (I Tim. 4:7)

What are HOME Groups?

HOME (Homes Open for Ministry and Encouragement) Groups are small gatherings, typically 6-12 adults, that meet once a week in a host home for fellowship, prayer and biblical discussion.  Each HOME Group is led be a Shepherd that has a love for God and a love for people.

Why HOME Groups?

Small intimate gatherings provide the best context for life change.  These groups present a natural setting for accountability and honesty.  HOME Groups also provide an opportunity for our Shepherds (lay pastors) to exercise their spiritual gifts.  This also provides a higher level of care for the entire congregation.  It would be impossible for our Pastoral Staff to provide adequate care to the congregation without the help of our Shepherds.

What happens in a HOME Group?

Care - we take time to build relationships that last
Aware - we have Bible centered discussion
Prayer - we take time to talk to God
Share - we take time to be open about our lives
Fellowship - we take time to laugh and eat!

"You are members of God's very own family...and you belong in God's household with every other Christian."  (Eph. 2:19)

"We are all parts of Christ's Body, and it takes every one of us to make it complete, for we each have different work to do.  So we belong to each other and need all the others."  (Rom. 12:4-5)

Scripture teaches that all believers are gifted for specific types of service. Sometimes we serve the Church body and sometimes we serve our surrounding community.

"God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each
other ..."      (I Peter 4:10)

"There are different kinds of service to God ... together you form the Body of Christ and each one of you is a necessary part of it."   (I Cor. 12: 5, 27)

Children PDF Print E-mail

At Anchor, we believe that parents play the primary role in spiritually leading their children.  At the same time, we know that the task of teaching our children to know, love, and serve Christ is hard.  Therefore, we want to help parents in this very important but challenging process.  There’s an old saying that states, “It takes a village to raise a child.”  We prefer to say it takes a church.  This partnership is especially important considering that so much character development and spiritual formation happens while children are still very young.

Children from Kindergarten to 5th grade are invited to join us on Sundays for Studio E at 9 a.m.  They are also invited to join us on Wednesdays for IMPACT at 7 p.m.

During the service, parents have the option to allow their children from Kindergarten through 3rd grade to attend Children's Church.

Students PDF Print E-mail

Students are overwhelmed on a daily basis with important information they are told they need to know:  how to excel in school, how to be the best in sports, how to stand out in the arts… the list goes on.  However, we believe that the greatest knowledge that students can have is an accurate, life-changing understanding of who Jesus Christ is, what He has done, and who He calls them to be.

Because of this conviction, the mission of Anchor Student Ministry is to partner with parents in making student disciples who know, love, and serve Christ.  We seek to accomplish this mission through a balance of equipping and discipling; equipping parents and other adult leaders, then joining with them to disciple students.

Students from 6 - 12 grade are invited to join us on Sundays for Life School at 9 a.m. and on Wednesdays for Reflect at 7 p.m. as we gather for worship, teaching, small group discussion, and… FUN!  Also, be sure to check our upcoming events for other opportunities to fellowship or serve.
